Please reach us at rachellenunn@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

We provide non-medical services to individuals who need assistance with daily activities due to aging, illness, disability, or other life challenges. We dispatch Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to clients' homes to assist them in remaining comfortably at home.

The services provided by a PSS can include:

  1. Assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs):
    • Personal hygiene (bathing, grooming, dressing)
    • Toileting assistance
    • Mobility support (help with walking, transferring from bed to chair)
    • Eating assistance
    • Medication reminders (though PSS cannot administer medications we can help by making sure medication is taken on time.)

  1. Companionship:
    • Providing emotional support and social interaction.
    • Accompanying clients on errands or appointments.
    • Offering light conversation and helping combat loneliness.

  1. Household Help:
    • Light housekeeping (e.g., laundry, dishwashing, dusting)
    • Meal preparation and help with eating
    • Grocery shopping or running errands

  1. Transportation Assistance:
    • Providing rides to medical appointments, social activities, and grocery shopping. This depends on what your insurance allows.

To determine if PSS care is the right option for you, consider the following:

1. Assess Your Needs

  • Physical and Emotional Support: Do you need help with basic tasks like dressing, bathing, or using the bathroom? Are you experiencing mobility challenges, or do you need assistance with medication management?
  • Health Conditions: Do you have chronic health conditions or disabilities that limit your ability to perform daily tasks independently (e.g., arthritis, Alzheimer’s, stroke recovery)?
  • Mental Health: Are you feeling isolated, lonely, or experiencing mental health challenges that could benefit from having a caregiver assist you or offer companionship?

2. Level of Independence

  • Mild vs. Significant Support: If you can still manage some activities independently but need occasional help, PSS care may be a good fit. If your needs are more complex (e.g., round-the-clock care), you may need a higher level of care, like nursing services.

The first step is to contact our office at 207-250-3837, and we will guide you in the right direction.
